Sarah Brayer

American (born 1957)
Born in Rochester, NY in 1957, Sarah Brayer graduated Cum Laude in Studio Art at Connecticut College. She studied printmaking in London and traveled to Japan in 1979 where she learned woodblock printing at the Toshi Yoshida Atelier. Brayer uses a variety of media, but works primarily in aquatint. In 1992, she became the first person ever to exhibit at Kyoto's twelve hundred year old Byodoin Temple. She has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United States and abroad.
